Job Description We are looking for a Systems Engineer to help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our expanding infrastructure. We are looking for an individual that can work with in an independent way, without much supervision and that likes to own what he is doing. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. Working on the Travel workspace with the partner of choice for the world's leading travel agencies and corporate travel programs, you will be supporting our internal systems, working along with our Operations teams in US and Bangalore. There are large development team in Bangalore and US with whom we work closely. The new person will help to maintain and improve our current infrastructure, implementing automation for our processes, self-service tools and monitoring out internal applications to make sure our customers can enjoy the high availability they are used to when using our Sabre systems Responsibilities: Develop automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale and monitor their applications using scripting and Ansible playbooks. Actively participate in high level team activities such as suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements and conducting tool evaluations Help solve business needs with technology by evaluating different technology options and vendor products System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains - will be expected to participate in on-call escalations to troubleshoot customer facing issues Takes operational ownership of end-to-end solutions provided by teams across the organization Develop release documentation covering all aspects of new release Deploy new application versions on all environments, from development to production. Design and build environments based on requirements Apply application clustering and load balancing concepts and technologies Help the team more forward on our AWS migrations for legacy components Job Requirements Required Work experience: Building automation including Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Salt Experience working with high availability, high performance, multi-data center systems and hybrid cloud environments. Java application server administration (Tomcat, Jboss). Unix system administration 5 years Shell Scripting 5 years (bash, ruby or python) Java Application troubleshooting: Understand what a stack trace is and how to navigate logs created by a Java app. Change management experience Performance and resource monitoring tools including Zabbix, Nagios, Sensu/Graphite Basic understanding of networking, load balancing HTTP/TCP traffic flows. Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Solid understanding of high availability, high performance, multi-data center systems and hybrid cloud environments Comfortable with Agile methodologies and working closely within small teams, and with remote teammates Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN Desired Work Experience Ruby experience with a good enough level to write a script from scratch to perform basic operations with Arrays/Hash Previous experience working as team leader and helping with tasks coordination and following up with the team.
